About the RD
Ashley is a Registered Dietitian nationally certified by the American Dietetic Association and additionally licensed in Washington State by the Department of Health. A Registered Dietitian or “RD” is different than a “Nutritionist”. An RD must have completed 4 years of undergraduate study at an ADA accredited university, been accepted to and completed a 900 hour supervised practice residency at a hospital medical center and then passed the RD Exam. A Nutritionist in most states is not a licensed title and therefore requires no specific education or training. Here in Washington a licensed nutritionist must receive a Masters in a Nutrition Related field. Be sure to ask your healthcare professional about their licensure and certifications to ensure quality care.
